June Zine Club

€10.00

What do fireworks, the sun, and bonna night all have in common? A celebration in June! We are celebrating the solstice friends! At our June zine club we will be making paper shrines for the sun, the moon, fire, the couches thrown into the fire, and long summer nights.

On the 21st of June we enjoy the longest day of the year, the summer solstice. Many cultures across the world mark this time of year with fire focused festivities. In true Christian fashion the pagan festivals were rebranded and the solstice turned into the Feast of St. John the Baptist on the 24th June, with a big feast and party the night before. In Ireland this is when we celebrate bonfire night, with Cork being particularly fond of this tradition. Down here we call it bonna night. This is also a big date in Spain, the festival of San Juan, with fires and fireworks to herald the beginning of summer.

We are hosted by our friends at My Goodness in their beautiful café space upstairs of the Quay Co-Op as part of their Nighttime Co-op.

*10% discount for Night Co-Op members using code NIGHTCOOP10 at checkout. Tickets are available from our website and we will not have tickets on the door if the event is fully booked.

FAQ

Can I get a refund if I am not able to come to a Zine Club? Can you reallocate my ticket?

Tickets for our Zine Club are non-refundable. If you are cancelling a ticket with more than 48 hours of notice, contact us by instagram or email and we can attempt to reallocate your ticket if we have the capacity at the time. We always appreciate a notice of cancellation if you can’t make it as the events often sell out and have a waiting list.

What does the ticket cost go towards?

The Zine Clubs are fundraising events for our organisation and proceeds go towards the organisation of our yearly zine fest, as well as the workshop facilitation fee and materials..

Can I come if I am a minor/bring my child to the workshop?

We ask anyone under 18 to be accompanied by an adult at our Zine Clubs. Accompanied children are welcome but please keep in mind that the workshops are not catered towards young audiences, we frequently use sharp objects like scissors (for collage) for example. Every person coming to the club must pay for their ticket, both children and accompanying adults.

Is there a waiting list if the event sells out?

If the event sells out but you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email or message us.
