Triskel/Sample Project Space Residency
We are grateful to Sample-Studios and the Triskel Arts Centre for the residency opportunity and for giving CZF a home for November. We also want to thank our partner the Crawford Art Gallery for supporting the workshops. We look forward to working with CATU, TENI, Crawford Support Studio, Rainbow Library Writers and Illustrators, Follow Your Nose, The Friends of the Crawford Gallery and Éist Radio throughout the month.
Residency Launch with Drop in Zine Making
Cork Zine Fest (CZF) is back for 2025 and bigger than ever before! This year we will be taking part in a residency inthe Triskel Sample Project Space from the 5th to the 30th of November. Partnering with Sample-Studios and the Crawford Art Gallery, we are excited to deliver a series of free workshops and events with community groups and the zine-making public throughout the month, concluding with a week long CZF Exhibition and Library showcase and our 2025 Cork Zine Fest Market on the 29th and 30th of November at the South Parish Community Center.
Cork City Library Children’s Workshops
OPEN PUBLIC WORKSHOP
Calling all beasties! You are invited to Beasts and Feasts, a zinemaking session for children! After looking at some of our most loved creature and food themed pieces from the Crawford Art Gallery collection, we'll be making simple zines filled with drawings of your imaginary banquets and their attendees. Each child will go home with at least one completed zine, which can be photocopied in the library. The workshops will take part in two age grouped sessions. Session 1 for 3 - 5 years old and Session 2 for 6-10 years old. This event is done in partnership with the Crawford Art Gallery.
CATU Zine Making Workshop
COMMUNITY GROUP WORKSHOP
Community Action Tenants Union (CATU) Ireland is a union and community focused group battling the housing and community issues of our time; sky-rocketing rents and house prices, precarious housing, alienation between neighbours, slashed local services, and an erosion of our public spaces. In this workshop, we will invite participants to create zines around the theme of “What safe and affordable housing looks like to us”, sparking conversations through creativity and activism.
Supported Studios Workshop 1
COMMUNITY GROUP WORKSHOP
Cork Zine Fest is excited to partner with the Crawford Art Gallery’s Supported Studios Programme. Working with pre-folded zine formats, the participants will explore ways of applying zine making to their own artistic practice.
Crawford Supported Studios provide a sustained creative environment for individuals with specific health or social needs, providing technical artistic support, networks and audiences outside the health and social care settings.
Crawford Cuimhne Group ‘Feast’ Zine Making Workshop
COMMUNITY GROUP WORKSHOP
Cork Zine Fest is excited to partner with the Crawford Art Gallery and Cuimhne, a social group for people with early onset dementia and their partners/family members. Within the workshop we will be exploring food related works from the Crawford Art Gallery collection and using pre-folded zine formats the group will explore zinemaking through collage, drawing and writing.
Treasures from the Crawford 1 - Open Workshops

The first of two zine workshops will be devoted to works that you have missed seeing in person at the Crawford Art Gallery. We'll be collaging, writing and drawing about them, pouring all our hearts onto the pages. The workshops are free, but booking is essential. Please join us for this zine making session where we will be using images from the Crawford archive to create a series of zines and learn a few new zine techniques and approaches along the way.
Follow Your Nose
COMMUNITY GROUP WORKSHOP
Inviting children from Follow Your Nose into the Triskel Sample Project Space to explore the fun and accessible joys of zine making. We will be delving into the theme of Beasts and Feasts from the Crawford collection.
Follow Your Nose is a collaborative art programme for children with experience of direct provision, led by artist Julie Forrester, Cork Migrant Centre and Crawford Art Gallery.
Drop In Zine-Making
OPEN PUBLIC WORKSHOP
Zine-making is all about sharing ideas and building community! So join us in building that community by spending the day with us at our Drop In Zine-Making session at the Triskel Sample Project Space from 11:00 until 13:30. We will have a range of tools and materials to use, but you are welcome to bring your own materials and zines that you are working on. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
Transgender Equality Network Ireland Workshop

CZF is excited to facilitate a zine making workshop with the members of Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) where we will be teaching a range of zine making techniques and responding to the phrase “trans joy”!

As part of our Triskel/Sample Project Space residency we are excited to offer an exclusive zine making workshop to our fellow Sample-Studios Members! In this workshop, members will learn a new zine fold format and explore creative prompts and discussions around zine making that they will add to their new zine format.

Zine Club

Our monthly Zine Club is here! Zine Club was created to provide a space for people to work on their zine practice and build a community of zine makers throughout the year. For our November Zine Club, we will be bringing the community together with an open zine making session to finish up our zines that will be available during the Cork Zine Fest Market. We welcome CZF stallholders as well as anyone who would like to create some zines to distribute on our “free zines” table during the festival.

Rainbow Library Writers and Illustrators Workshop

The Rainbow Library Writers and Illustrators Youth Group is for young people in County Cork aged 14-23 and identifying as LGBTQIA+. They take part in monthly hybrid workshops facilitated by writers, illustrators and designers. For November, they will be working with CZF to explore new zine folds and formats to expand their zine making practices!
éist x CZF Listening Party and Zine Workshop

What goes together better than music and zine making? Maybe a collaborative makers day with CZF and Éist? Join us for an Éist listening party and zine making session at the Triskel Sample Project Space from 12:00 until 15:00, where we will be listening live to Éist community radio and creating zines in response to the music and sounds.
CZF Zine Library Showcase and Exhibition
OPEN PUBLIC EVENT
Throughout our residency and from the series of public and community group workshops we are facilitating, each participant will be given the opportunity to showcase the zines they have made by adding a copy of their zine to the CZF Library Showcase and Exhibition.
During the week, we will have our CZF Resident Maker Oriane Duboz; visual artist, zine maker and photographer. Oriane was the organiser and producer of the first Cork Zine Fest in 2018 and we are excited to have her join CZF for the week while she works on a few of her current zine projects!
Friends of the Crawford Workshop
MEMBERS WORKSHOP
As a support group for Crawford Art Gallery, the Friends’ aim is to promote awareness of the gallery, its collections and exhibitions and to foster an interest in all aspects of art, culture and heritage. To further the awareness of the collection, the Friends of the Crawford will get to explore Crawford archives through zine making! Using images from the Crawford collection to create a series of zines and learn a few new zine techniques and approaches along the way.

The Cork Zine Fest Market is here! We have zine makers from across Ireland join us for another zine filled weekend at the South Parish Community Center, Cork City.
Zine Makers Panel - the impact of zines and zine communities
OPEN PUBLIC EVENT
To accompany our Cork Zine Fest Market we will be hosting a Zine Makers Panel conversation with our fellow creators discussing "the impact of zines and zine communities”. Join us for the panel talk followed by a Q&A session. Attendance is free but tickets are required due to limited seating.
