More about the speakers:
Ailbhe Cunningham (Ample Space)
Ample Space explores zines as tools of creative dissemination for ongoing and completed research, adopting bloomers definition of publication as “public meaning making”. As a practice engaged in spatial design and research, our zines take on a spatial character, exploring unique folds and assembly as a key aspect of our zine practice.
Artem Trofimenko
Artem Trofimenko's practice moves across film, sound, installation, performance, and photography as a way of working with attention — constructing situations where perception slows and subtle shifts in space, material, and the body become perceptible. The work operates at a low threshold of tension, duration, and instability, where image, sound, and material form a continuous field, each bearing traces of the others.
Katie Lynch
My practice investigates the strangeness of living down back roads where not much ever happens, exploring how identity and absurdity interact with the Irish landscape. Drawing structural inspiration from Samuel Beckett, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and amateur theatre, I construct surreal, fictionalized narratives anchored in local archival footage, bog graveyards, and parish roads. I use self-publishing as a tool to connect printmaking, pinhole photography, text, and studio collages into portable spaces.
